Entrance Examination

Requirements and standards for entrance examinations to law programmes at CLET-accredited institutions.

Entrance Standards

Accredited institutions set uniform minimum standards for admission through a fair and transparent entrance examination or any other standard approved by CLET, to assess the academic potential of prospective law students and ensure they have the capacity to complete the programme.

Institutional Obligation

Institutions must determine the minimum standards of admission through a fair and transparent entrance examination or any other standard for the admission of a student to the law programme.

What Institutions Must Assess

  • Academic potential of the prospective student
  • Capacity to complete the law programme
  • Ability to practise law effectively upon graduation
  • Meeting of WASSCE or equivalent minimum standards

Specific entrance examination dates, formats and registration procedures are set by individual accredited institutions. Contact your chosen institution directly for current examination schedules.
