Admission Measures for Persons with Disability
CLET supports the full participation of persons with disability in legal education. Accredited institutions may adopt special measures to increase representation.
Inclusive Admission
Under Section 47 of Act 1170, accredited institutions may adopt special admission measures for the purpose of increasing the representation of persons with disability in the legal community. This reflects Ghana's commitment to an inclusive Bar.
Authorisation
An accredited institution may adopt special admission measures for the purpose of increasing the representation of persons with disability in the legal community.
What Institutions Must Do
- Adopt special measures to enable students with disability to pursue legal education
- Maintain adequate infrastructure which is accessible to persons with disability
- Make provisions to accommodate persons with visual, hearing, or any other form of impairment
Reporting to CLET
Institutions' disability inclusion policies and infrastructure are reviewed during CLET's annual inspections. Non-compliance with these obligations may affect accreditation standing.
